42 updates · 29 new features

July 2026

  1. New

    Share projects with collaborators

Invite classmates to view your project (read-only). Collaborators see your builder tools and plan without being able to edit. You can also list credit names that appear on the business plan.

  2. New

    Cohort insights for instructors

Admins can open Insights to review programme progress by cohort — project and tool completion, course activity, and AI usage — so it’s easier to see how a group is doing.

  3. New

Download your business plan as a Word document

Export your plan as an editable Word (.docx) file from the Business Plan page — useful for continuing work outside SAIB, submitting drafts, or sharing with mentors. PowerPoint export remains available.

  4. Improved

Business plan exports focused on Word and PowerPoint

Plan downloads now centre on Word (DOCX) and PowerPoint (PPTX). PDF export was removed so the options stay simple and reliable.

  5. New

Generate an MVP logo mockup in Visual Identity

Visual Identity can generate a logo mockup for your brand. When available, it can appear in your plan and exports alongside your colours and fonts.

  6. Improved

Clearer builder tools across your project

Business Idea, Market Research, Visual Identity, Financing, SWOT, Theory of Change, Stakeholders, and Team & Org Chart got clearer forms, stronger AI help, and more consistent navigation. Project pages now say “tools” instead of “modules.”

  7. Improved

    Smoother course lesson navigation

Course lessons load and move between pages more reliably, with clearer completion gates and a steadier sidebar while you work through a module.

  8. New

    Programme settings per course group

Registration, AI features, exports, forums, and related toggles can be set per cohort instead of only site-wide. Instructors can also grant early access where needed.

  9. New

Platform guide, ops checklists, and this What’s new page

Added a full student and instructor platform guide, ops and quality-assurance checklists for running a programme, and this public What’s new timeline so updates are easier to follow.

  10. Fixed

Clearer feedback when creating an account or resetting your password

You’ll see more helpful messages if something goes wrong while signing up or requesting a password reset, including when you’ve tried too many times in a short period.

  11. Improved

Smoother layouts on course lessons and project pages

Course lessons, project overviews, and several builder tools got layout tweaks so content fits better on phones, tablets, and desktops.

  12. Improved

Automatic course group enrolment on signup

New accounts are enrolled in the current programme group automatically when you create an account or sign in — no invite code needed on the signup form.

  13. Fixed

    More reliable account signup

Fixed an issue that could block new accounts from being created, and improved the messages shown when signup fails.

  14. Improved

Business plan exports focused on PDF and PowerPoint

Plan downloads now centre on PDF and PowerPoint (PPTX). Google Docs and Slides export were removed so the export options stay simple and reliable.

  15. Improved

Mobile-friendly app shell and clearer navigation

A refreshed app layout with a mobile menu, clearer spacing, and more consistent course and project pages across screen sizes.

  16. New

    Course completion certificates

When you finish every module in your programme, you can download a completion certificate as a PDF from the course overview.

  17. New

    Instructor gradebook and assignment grading

Instructors can open a cohort gradebook (completion funnel, quiz and assignment scores, CSV export) and grade written assignment submissions from a dedicated queue.

  18. New

Course assignments and pinned forum posts

Course modules can include written assignments with word limits and optional “required for completion” rules. Instructors can pin important forum posts so they stay at the top.

  19. New

    Account settings in the sidebar

Manage your forum display name, email, password, programme schedule, AI usage, and email notification preferences from Settings.

  20. New

Stronger AI help across project modules

AI drafting and strengthening tools now cover more of your project — including brand, financing, market research, stakeholders, and related sections — with clearer daily usage limits.

  21. Improved

Expanded organisation examples and clearer project navigation

Added more real-world organisation examples for research, and made project links and navigation more consistent throughout the app.

  22. New

    Course groups with scheduled unlocks

You’re enrolled in a course group (cohort) so modules and forums match your programme. Modules can unlock on a schedule (for example morning unlocks in Hong Kong time), and instructors can manage groups and schedules from Admin.

June 2026

  1. New

Quizzes with pass marks and retakes

Course modules can include quizzes with attempt tracking, pass marks, retake limits, and optional answer review. Progress and “Continue” pick up where you left off more reliably.

  2. New

Module scheduling and richer lesson content

Instructors can set when modules become available, add images and callout blocks in lessons, and format course text more clearly for students.

  3. New

Admin control centre for running a programme

Instructors gained site settings (registration, AI, exports, forums), announcement banners, a students overview, forum moderation, and a customisable reference-organisation library for AI suggestions.

  4. New

    Announcement banners for students

Programme messages can appear as coloured banners at the top of the app — for everyone or for a specific course group.

  5. New

Download your business plan as PDF or PowerPoint

Export your plan as a PDF or PowerPoint pitch deck (when enabled), alongside print, so it’s easier to share and present your work.

  6. New

Growth milestones, risk register, and executive summary

Financing now supports growth milestones. SWOT includes a structured risk register. On the Business Plan page you can generate and edit an AI-assisted executive summary.

  7. New

Marketing strategy and multi-year financial projections

Market Research can capture go-to-market thinking, and Financing supports multi-year financial projections that feed into your business plan.

  8. New

Hide or show individual builder tools

Instructors can temporarily hide specific builder tools from students without removing course content.

  9. Improved

    Focused set of builder tools

Removed the Wellbeing module so the builder stays centred on the social enterprise plan tools you use in the course.

  10. New

    Multi-project workspace

Create and manage multiple business ideas side by side. Each project has its own builder tools, progress, and business plan — with archive and restore when you’re done exploring an idea.

  11. New

Stakeholders & Partners and Team & Org Chart

Map named organisations around your venture (competitors, suppliers, allies) and design your team structure with roles and reporting lines — both linked into your business plan.

  12. New

Richer Business Idea, brand, and SWOT tools

Business Idea gained problem, beneficiaries, and “why now” fields plus mission and vision help. Visual Identity and SWOT gained deeper options, including reflection prompts and stronger previews.

  13. Improved

    More Hong Kong organisation examples

Expanded the reference library with another batch of Hong Kong social enterprises to inspire research and AI suggestions.

  14. Improved

Clearer site description for search engines

Updated the site’s summary text so SAIB Builder is easier to find and understand when shared or searched.

Full course experience with lessons and video library

Course modules with multi-page lessons, embedded teaching videos from a reusable video library, and progress through Starting an Impactful Business.

  2. New

    Discussion forums for classmates

Discuss course material in per-module and course-wide forums, with options for display names or anonymous student labels.
