This is a product-aligned draft for programme operators. Have your organisation or counsel review and adapt it before relying on it in production.
1. Who we are
SAIB Builder is an interactive educational companion for social entrepreneurship programmes (the "Service"). It helps participants learn through a course LMS and build business plans with optional AI assists. The Service is operated by the relevant programme operator and platform administrators for that deployment (the "Operator").
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:
- Account data — email address and authentication credentials (handled by our auth provider), and profile fields such as display name where provided.
- Programme data — cohort membership, signup-related programme assignment, progress through modules, quiz attempts (including answers and scores), assignment submissions and feedback, forum posts and replies when forums are enabled, and certificate records when you complete the programme.
- Builder project data — project titles, work you enter into builder tools, collaborator links, and export-related activity.
- AI usage records — counts and feature metadata for AI assists (for quotas and programme insights). Product analytics events are designed not to include full AI prompts or quiz free text.
- Technical data — security and operational logs, session information needed to keep you signed in, and similar diagnostics.
3. How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Provide and secure the Service (accounts, access control, sessions)
- Deliver the course, grading, feedback, insights, and certificates
- Run the builder tools, collaborator sharing, and exports
- Operate optional AI assists when enabled for your cohort
- Monitor reliability, abuse, and fair usage (including AI limits)
- Improve the Service at the programme level (for example, completion funnels visible to instructors)
4. AI features
When AI features are enabled for a cohort, the Service may send relevant text you provide or that is stored in your project to an AI provider (such as OpenAI) to generate suggestions. Outputs can be imperfect; you should review them before relying on them. Programme settings may disable AI entirely or by module/feature. AI is not used to give formal legal or financial advice.
5. Analytics
If the Operator enables Google Analytics (or a similar measurement tool), the Service may collect usage information such as page views and high-level product events (for example, successful sign-in, project creation, or export). Those product events are designed to avoid personal identifiers in free text, quiz answers, and AI prompts. Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies when configured.
6. Service providers
The Operator relies on service providers to host and operate the Service. Typical categories include:
- Authentication and database hosting (for example, Supabase)
- AI providers for optional assists (for example, OpenAI)
- Email delivery if transactional email is configured (for example, Resend)
- Web analytics when enabled (for example, Google Analytics)
Providers process data under their own terms and security practices, and only as needed to deliver the Service.
7. Programme context
The Service is primarily used in the context of an educational programme. Processing is carried out so the Operator can run that programme, support teaching and assessment, and maintain the platform. Local privacy rules may also apply to the Operator's institution or organisation.
8. Sharing
Without selling your personal data, we may share information as follows:
- Instructors and admins may see progress, submissions, gradebook/insights, and related programme records for enrolled students.
- Project collaborators you invite may see the shared project content.
- Service providers as described above, under agreements/services needed to operate the platform.
- When required by law or to protect the security of the Service and its users.
9. Retention
We keep data for as long as needed to run the programme and operate the Service, including after active teaching for a reasonable administrative period (for example, grades, certificates, or support). The Operator may delete or anonymise data when a programme ends or when retention is no longer necessary, subject to legitimate archival or legal needs.
10. Your rights and requests
You can update some profile information in the Service. For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, contact your programme instructor or platform administrators. They will handle requests as feasible under programme policy and applicable law.
11. Cookies
Essential cookies (or similar storage) are used for authentication and session management. If analytics is enabled, additional cookies may be set by the analytics provider. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.
12. Children
The Service is intended for adult and university-level programme participants, not for young children. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate authorisation, contact the Operator.
13. Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when material updates are made. Continued use of the Service after updates means you should re-read this page for the current version.
14. Contact
For privacy questions, contact your course instructor or the platform administrators for your SAIB Builder deployment.
